What information is needed for grain dryer programming and electrical connection
A checklist of documents, photos and operating details for a useful inquiry about grain dryer controls and electrical connection.
A prepared inquiry helps establish what is already installed, which functions are needed and where documentation needs clarification. Collect available information in one folder and briefly describe your task.
What to collect before contacting us
Dryer and controller
Manufacturer, model and nameplate photos; PLC and operator panel models. For an existing project, provide its version and available backup.
Actual diagrams
Power and control diagrams, cable and terminal identification, and a list of modifications. State whether the drawings match the existing cabinet.
Motors and sensors
A list of drives and mechanisms, motor and drive nameplate photos, and sensor types and models.
Required operating process
Describe loading, drying, cooling and unloading, manual and automatic modes, current issues and intended changes.
Photos and equipment interfaces
Overview photos of the dryer, cabinet and related equipment; any available description of signals between the dryer, heater and conveying equipment.
Contact and planning
Responsible contact, work location and preferred timing. Identify information already available and items requiring clarification at the facility.
How to describe the expected result
Describe how the equipment operates now, what needs to change and how you will accept the result. For example, identify mechanisms requiring an agreed sequence, states the operator needs to see and settings that should remain after power loss. Specific operating modes are clarified from the equipment documentation.
Identify gaps in the documentation
If a diagram is outdated, software is unavailable or a sensor model is unknown, state this clearly. Photos and descriptions help start the discussion; the actual configuration and verification scope are established separately. Ask the facility’s responsible electrical personnel to inspect and photograph the inside of a control cabinet.
